Edwardian Switch Plates
Matching solid brass Crabtree switch plates with the classic Edwardian rope twist design. We've described them as Edwardian but they could be as late as 20s/30s. The rope twist design is seen on door handles, finger plates and escutcheons. The hole is slightly bigger than modern ones but they do just fit a modern 10AX toggle light switch. They are more than likely light switch plate covers, but they could be adapted to take a push button for a servants bell push. Cleaned and polished, they'll quickly tarnish but easy to keep shiny with a Brasso product if you prefer.
Some were copper plated and bits still remain here and there (the main image has the most plating remaining), and some do have a fair bit of wear around the central hole where they've been used.
