Victorian Ebony Beehive Escutcheon

A fantastic quality reproduction Victorian ebony beehive escutcheon. Traditionally most doors had a rim lock or latch on one side, escutcheons were used on the other side to cover the key hole and also act a draught excluder. Manufactured using original Victorian patterns. This is solid ebony not ebonised pine. The escutcheon is un lacquered so will tarnish down in the traditional way (can also be polished).
