Victorian Brass Rim Lock & Knobs
A beautiful antique solid brass patented rim lock with its original matching handles and open escutcheon. By JA&S Hills Ltd of London and dating from around 1880 the patent design means the lock is fully reversible by popping out the spring loaded lock part and turning the bolt and frame round so it'll work on both sides of a door (its bit fiddly, if you need it switching from the way round in the image, let us know and I'll do it for you). The little screw head on the open escutcheon matches the bead around the handle rose plate. Cleaned, oiled and machine polished, the key is a new alloy one, we've tarnished it down a little. The keep is also new but unlacquered so they'll all tarnish together.
Sold as a set, we have another identical one waiting for a minor repair.
Overall excellent condition, marks and scratches as expected.
