Pair Large Victorian Door Hinges

An impressive pair of large solid brass hinges in an aesthetic movement style, dating from around 1870 and weighing in at an impressive 4kg the pair. Unfortunately we don't know where they came from but it must have been an impressive door. The decorative section sits either across the frame or over the door. Because they are a two part hinge they will only go one side of the door, so please study the images to make sure its the right way for you. The main image shows the way round they work. They've been cleaned and lightly polished.

Sold as a pair.

Good working condition, the decoration on one of the hinges is quite worn. Some of the plates that cover the screw holes look a later addition.
