Late Victorian Letterbox
A great quality solid brass letterbox by William Tonk & Sons, stamped on the reverse with its RD date (1896) judging by the colour of the brass and the bolts the letterbox dates to around this period. Quite large for a letterbox of this period, we particularly like the clapper, quite a complicated shape to cast. Machine polished with a new spring and retaining bar. It'll tarnish pretty quickly outside if not kept polished.
Any questions, please ask.
Great original condition, it once said 'KNOCK' on the frame but this has worn. Some weathering and general wear. Its a bit fiddly to fit.
