Large Georgian Country House Door Bell
A huge door bell from a Georgian country house dating from around 1810 over 20inches tall and weighing over 3.5kg, we've never had one this large before, only ever seen one in-situ. Its in fully working condition with all the tension still in the spring and its original iron pulley that would have gone in the inside of the door frame. Originally it had a big spike that would have been embedded in the wall, unfortunately it was probably snapped when it was removed so we've made a new heavy duty fixing plate and sleeve. The wrought iron has a small ring for the bell cord to tie to, so ideally pulled from the left (as the picture shows) but you could just tie the cord around. It sits under quite allot of tension but it'll need a pull with a strong return spring or an expansion spring somewhere along the cable (we have some expansion springs if you think you might need one)
Really good working condition.
Finish: Original brass & iron
Overall height on wall: 540mm (21in) approx
Diameter of bell: 170mm (6.5in)
