Large 24 Bay Servants Call Box

We currently have 1 in stock.

A lovely example of a large glass fronted servants call board dating from around 1910 - 1920 consisting of 24 windows. We believe this style of box are sometimes known as service indicators as the Red flag drops into the window then needs to be manually reset using the exposed knobs (so that room is waiting for service). Its probably from a Hotel or serviced flats, something like that. The frame is teak and the board and box are some sort of generic hardwood. Its all been stripped of the old varnish and refinished.

Its been tested, probably half of the indicators still work some others do work but catch or are a bit stiff, really it needs to be taken apart and serviced. A few of them no longer work at all. You can see on this Youtube video where we've wired it to a 12v supply and a bell or a similar period.

Any questions please ask.
