Georgian Front Door Lock
A quite substantial antique wrought iron front door rim lock, dating from the early 1800s (maybe earlier) best described as a night lock, not sure you'd want to carry the key around. It was originally recessed into a door but at some point has been adapted to be surface mounted and the keep added. It has a two stage lock so the bolt can be extended further with a second turn. The key entries are off-set and the round discs on the back and front are the keys stops so the long key entry can be cut off. An ideal addition to an 1800s period front door.
All the rust and over painting has been stripped and its been lightly finished and waxed.
Great original working condition, we've left it as original as possible, signs of old finishes.
