Antique Ebonised & Brass Door Knobs
Top quality matching pairs of late Victorian door knobs, these have a solid brass rose and stem with the end being some kind of ebonised hardwood. These are quite unusual I've only ever seen them once before. They could be used on rim locks and latches. All the brass has been machine polished and the wood refinished and waxed.
Sold in pairs.
Overall really good original condition, a couple have worn through the surface (see pic) and a couple have a bit of shrinkage. One handle is supposed to be fixed to the spindle with the other screwing on and off the spindle but a few were broken so we've added a grub screw to these. So only the handle on the threaded side (with the gap in the rose for the grub screw) are supposed to be undone and moved. One pair only has 2 screw holes in the rose.
