1920s Iron Suffolk Latch
A lovely wrought iron suffolk latch by Elsleys of London (stamped on the back), recently removed from a 1920s Tudorbethan property in the SE. Slightly larger than the average and the pivot bar has a little looped handle. It is handed so the handle is supposed to go on the right hand side of the door but it could be used the other way round. All the wrought iron has been refinished and finished with a specialist product to prevent it from rusting, the shininess will dull down.
Very original working condition, lots of signs of the various old finishes.
