RH Georgian Brass Rim Lock
A lovely example of an antique original right handed early 1800s Georgian brass rim lock. All refurbished and polished, the lock has an additional knob on the front to operate the internal slide bolt. As per a lot of the Georgian locks, it has no screw holes and is fitted by attaching the iron plate to the door, the lock slides over the frame and is secured with a grub screw on the base, it needs to be fitted quite accurately and the lugs on the base recessing into the face of the door. I'm pretty sure the keep is a later addition. but a really nice match.
Great original working condition, marks and scratches as to be expected. Would have possibly had an escutcheon on the front
