Large Victorian Front Door Rim Lock
A large fully working antique Victorian front door rim lock dating from around 1870. The case is all English oak and has wrought iron fittings, it could work on an internal door but it would have to be quite large. The key shaft was quite damaged to it's been replaced with something similar to the original. The handle socket takes a standard 7mm sq spindle. It's been stripped of all the overpainting, refinished and waxed. The keep is probably a later addition but it's a good match in terms of the oak.
Any questions, please ask.
Overall excellent condition, the keys a bit tight to get into the front but it's nice and tight and works perfectly from both side. We've included the original fixings, they are a bit damaged on the ends but once the holes are piloted they'll screw in, we'll also provide some modern slotted screws. The handle bolt doesn't recess right into the case so its needs fitting quite accurately.
